Celebrations and Events

Even though the Brother Benno Center is housed in a huge warehouse, the inside looks more like a party place.  Color is everywhere.  Decorations appropriate to the season or holiday draw you in: cupids and hearts, shamrocks and leprechauns, flags and firecrackers, turkeys and russet leaves, Santa and holly.  Music, provided by volunteers and guests, is an integral part of the ambiance.

All of the celebrations at Brother Benno’s are meant to show our guests that people care about them.  For many, this is the only home and family they know.  They discover that it’s not just the staff and volunteers they see at the Center who help them, but also the thousands of others in the community who donate food, goods, gifts, and money throughout the year so they can experience a respite from their difficulties.

Hope often blossoms from one small gesture of love and concern.  Every day is an opportunity to be touched with warmth and joy.
